Knowledge Bridge

Erkki Mervaala is Program Manager and Digital Media Specialist for Media Development Investment Fund. He works as an editor at Knowledge Bridge. He also co-founded the award-winning Finnish climate journalist collective Hyvän sään aikana. Since moving to Prague in 2017, Mervaala has worked as a Central Europe foreign correspondent for several Finnish magazines and newspapers including Aamulehti, Suomen kuvalehti and Turun sanomat. Before joining the MDIF he also freelanced as a screenwriter for Yellow Film & TV, web developer and UI/UX designer and worked as a research intern at the Finnish think tank Demos Helsinki. He has a master’s degree in Journalism and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Tampere, Finland.
